Up and Coming Talent:
Ok so I know those of you that read my “up and comings” probably just want to scream, because none of the people I’m presenting are actually “new” but just bear with me. So this next one’s name is Dane DeHaan and he is insanely talented. The first time I saw him was in Chronicle (2012), which was honestly one of the most underrated movies of the year. It’s one of those films that you not only feel like you’re watching extremely special, but you know you are. It’s no Academy Award contender. No it wasn’t the best film of the decade. However, the story is surprisingly well developed, and the true gems lie in the three boys that basically make up the entire cast, one of which being DeHaan. His performance in the film is not only haunting, it leaves his face imprinted in your mind as a career you are about to see bloom into possibly one of the biggest in Hollywood. Needless to say, that’s a feeling you can be pretty confident in because within a year, he’s been a part of some of the biggest films to come out recently. From the western Lawless, to the Academy Award winning Lincoln, all the way back to the indie, star studded Place Beyond the Pines, he has already solidified his place in young Hollywood as a massive force to be reckoned with. As if that wasn’t enough, he just booked arguably the biggest job of his career thus far, The Amazing Spider-Man 2. He also has a few indie projects on the way that look promising as well, but he is definitely one to look into. I don’t think any of you will be disappointed.
